Venice was somewhere I’d always wanted to visit but had never managed to get to. In the summer of 2007 I finally booked a short trip there and instantly fell in love with the place. I’ve since been a few times and this gallery reflects shots for several trips.
With no cars allowed the best and easiest way to explore is on foot, and even in the tourist season although the main areas are often packed with sightseers, you only have to wander down an alley and turn a corner to find yourself in a small empty square with just a few locals enjoying a drink at a cafe.
With so much to see and new sights around every corner its a photographers dream come true. From the imposing campanelli in St Marks Square next to the Basilica to the Rialto bridge over the Grand Canal.
